The Basque Country is one of the oldest and most diverse cultures in Europe. Accordingly, its culture and origins differ in many ways from those of the rest of Spain. Basques are very proud of their origin and uniqueness - rightly so.

The Basque Country consists of six provinces, three in northern Spain and three others in south-western France.

Euskera or Basque, is one of the oldest languages spoken and is totally isolated from any other living language.
There are different dialects spoken in the Basque territory, but Euskara Batua was created as a link between all of them.

The small snack pintxos are often called "Basque cuisine in miniature" as they are an affordable version of Basque gastronomy.

The Basque Country has a wide variety of landscapes, from the coast along the Bay of Biscay, to narrow valleys and the peaks of the Pyrenees.
